Rhys Bowen's Royal Flush and Donna Andrews' Swan for the Money have been nominated for a Best Novel Agatha Award. Posed for Murder by Meredith Cole and In the Shadow of Gotham by Stefanie Pintoff are Best First Novel nominees. In addition, Elizabeth Zelvin's "Death Will Trim Your Tree" received a Best Short Story nomination, and Chris Grabenstein was nominated for Best Children's/Young Adult Mystery for The Hanging Hill. The Agathas will be presented at the Malice Domestic Convention in April.
Frankie Y. Bailey's book African American Mystery Writers: A Historical and Thematic Study is the winner of the Macavity Award in the Best Nonfiction/Critical category. The book was also nominated for an Anthony Award in the Best Critical Nonfiction Work category. The awards were presented at Bouchercon in October.
